This is an event for the obsessed—for those who have no choice but to build, create, and act. The ones who believe that 'leaving the Earth better than you found it' isn't a suggestion, but a challenge to fuel their dreams.
The Moonshot Summit is for those who build while others debate. For the engineers shipping carbon capture tech while politicians argue about carbon credits. The founders using AI to cure diseases while lawyers argue clinical trial protocols. For entrepreneurs deploying solar microgrids while others debate permitting reform.
We know the world has real problems. Climate change is real. Inequality is real. But so is human ingenuity, exponential technology, and the fact that pessimism has never built a single useful thing. Over the past two centuries, extreme poverty is down 90%. Life expectancy has doubled. Fusion is finally here and we're building spaceships for Mars.
The Moonshot Summit is where this tribe gathers—the physical manifestation of a movement that refuses to let optimism be boring. We’re the ones who won’t let the future happen to us. We believe that the best way to predict the future is to create it ourselves.
The Moonshot Podcast (Moonshots), delivered by Peter Diamandis and his Moonshot Mates has extraordinary growth to 400,000 subscribers over the past two years, now reaching over 1 million viewers/listeners every month.
Moonshots attracts extraordinary guests such as Elon Musk, Michael Saylor, Eric Schmidt, Cathie Wood, Ray Dalio, David Sinclair, PhD, Neil deGrasse Tyson and Palmer Luckey. Every week the Moonshot Mates hold an episode known as “WTF Just Happened in Tech” dissecting the insane speed of AI and more. It is from this loyal and fanatical audience that the Moonshot Summit will attract its Summit attendees.
The Moonshot Stage will feature moonshot builders—the ones actually doing the work. High-credibility entrepreneurs and technologists who can authentically share what it takes to build the future. Think Astro Teller, Captain of Moonshots at Google X and defense tech innovator Palmer Luckey—people who understand that the future needs less moaning pessimism and more construction. Expect keynotes, intimate fireside conversations. Content from the Moonshot Summit will appear on the Moonshot Podcast in the weeks that follow.
This is a competition in partnership with Google and the XPRIZE Foundation. It is a global creative competition serving as an engine for positive storytelling. We’re flipping the script on the dystopian futures portrayed by today’s movies and television series. The XPRIZE challenges content creators worldwide to create a trailer for a film or TV series that tells of a hopeful, compelling vision for tomorrow through optimistic sci-fi. Hundreds, perhaps thousands of entries are expected.
Over the 90 days leading up to the Moonshot Summit, Peter Diamandis will reach out to entrepreneurs via his Moonshot Podcast, and this Abundance Fellowship, to invite them to apply to pitch their company for seed investment on stage at the Moonshot Summit. A panel of legendary investors, 5 “Sharks” including wealth tech CEOs (e.g. Palmer Luckey) and successful VCs (e.g. Dave Blundin) will help to down-select hundreds of applicants to a final 5, and will grill the companies in a similar format to the TV show, Shark Tank. The goals of this program are twofold: (1) To bring $2M - $10M of investment into epic moonshot companies; and (2) For the Moonshot audience to learn best practices on pitching their companies. This program is expected to be dynamic and run for about 90 – 120 minutes.
Built on a simple premise: a single builder empowered by modern AI tools can now build a company with significant revenues and global customers without the need for a large, venture-backed team. This competition will be launched 6 months prior to the Moonshot Summit, inviting companies to “build in public” and demonstrate what they are able to do as a one-person company using the latest AI tools. The Top-5 finalists (as measured by their revenues and number of paying customers) will be invited onto the stage to present their work in front of a panel of VCs and builders.
If you're reading this thinking "these people sound like my kind of crazy," then congratulations—you've found your tribe. Come build the future with us. It's going to be epic.
